Article 2 - Gay Hate Crime Going Way Too Far
Burke Burnett was at a party when three men attending the party found out he was homosexual. He says
that night "Reminded me just how much hatred was still directed towards lesbians, and gays." The victim was beaten harshly, stabbed twice with a broken beer bottle, and thrown into a fire, sending him to near death! If it wasn't for some kind-hearted girls at the party, stepping in and letting Burnett get away.
The three suspects were charged with aggravated assault but police are leaving it up to the grand jury to decide whether its hate crime or not. Each suspect will be receiving five to ninety-nine years in prison.
But even justice can't heal Burnett's wounds. He needed thirty stitches total, above his eye, and on his ribcage, and now wears bandages for the entire leg full of blisters from the fire.
